History of Atlantic City Hilton
The original Hilton in Atlantic City never actually opened, it's gaming license was denied and the property was taken over by Donald Trump and named the Trump Castle (now Trump Marina). The current Atlantic City Hilton was opened in 1980 by none other than the grand casino master himself Steve Wynn. After years of regulatory squabble, Wynn opted out and sold the Nugget to Ballys Manufacturing who changed the name of the joint to Ballys Grand in 1987. The money from the sale of the AC Nugget gave Wynn the capital to build Mirage and eventually Treasure Island, Bellagio, Beau Rivage and eventually his crowning achievement Wynn Las Vegas and Wynn Macau. Ballys changed the name of Bally's Grand to The Grand shortly before being aquired by Hilton Hotels. Which eventually sold the Ballys name to Park Place/Caesars who has recently been swallowed up by Harrah's to create the largest gaming company on the planet.
How are the rooms at Atlantic City Hilton?
With 800 Deluxe Hotel Rooms that overlook the Atlantic Ocean, you really can't go wrong here. The AC Hilton is a out of the way as far as other casinos go, but this relative isolation is a good thing - less insanity and a more calming atmosphere.
The Atlantic City Hilton offers standard Deluxe rooms, which are clean, nicely appointed and quite spacious, but not as fancy as some of the newer casinos in town. Amenities include: cable tv, safe, tv on demand, ironing board, safe, broadband (fee) and discounted parking fees.
Check out time is 12 noon!
