History of Harrah's

Harrah's Atlantic City started it's life in the late 1970's as Holiday Inn Marina Casino, transformed into Harrah's Marina when Holiday Inn purchased a substantial amount of Harrah's holdings in 1978, shortly before the death of Harrah's founder William F. Harrah. Harrah's Marina had its grand opening on November 23, 1980. Harrah's dropped the Marina moniker and went with Harrah's Atlantic City. For a short time Harrah's operated a casino out of Trump Plaza on the Boardwalk.

How are the rooms at Harrah's?

Bayview, Harbour, Atrium and Marina Towers are your choices of rooms here at Harrah's. The Bayview offers 4 different room types, the Super Suite (for the high roller), the Jr. Suite (cheap high rollers), the Standard Room (low rollers)and the King Room (not so low rollers).

The Harbour Towers have the same options, minus the Super Suite, while the Atrium houses the other Jr. Suites in the Hotel, leaving The Marina Towers with the grubs: Standard Rooms and King Rooms.

Expect to pay close to $300 a night.

What restaurants are at Harrah's?

The Steakhouse for your meats and for pasta, head over to 'CESCA for spaghetti and other contemporary Italian foodstuffs. Fantasy Reef Buffet for fish and sea spiders, and Corner Grill and Reflections Cafe for the casual dining.

For something a little different, there is the Bluepoint cafe, which bills itself as a 'Raw Bar'. Not sure what they are referring to because the menu offers cooked food, but we can roll with it.

Where is Harrah's Located?

Harrah's Atlantic City is located in the Marina District about 10 minutes drive from the Boardwalk. Borgata and Trump Marina are within walking distance of Harrah's Atlantic City.

Xhibition Bar on the Casino floor is a great place to catch some booze or mingle. , the Eden Lounge features local entertainment in a Vegasy cover band lounge atmosphere. If you're looking for a party - go to Borgata.
