If you measure all Harrah's properties using the Las Vegas one as a yard stick, Harrah's Atlantic City is about a Football field higher in quality, coolness, layout and gaming opportunity. Whereas the Vegas property is cramped, difficult and tight, Harrah's Atlantic City is about opportunity and fun. With Borgata opened right next door, it's no doubt that Harrah's is pouring resources and interest into their AC flagship property.




Harrah's Atlantic City History

Harrah's Atlantic City started it's life in the late 1970's as Holiday Inn Marina Casino, transformed into Harrah's Marina when Holiday Inn purchased a substantial amount of Harrah's holdings in 1978, shortly before the death of Harrah's founder William F. Harrah. Harrah's Marina had its grand opening on November 23, 1980. Harrah's dropped the Marina moniker and went with Harrah's Atlantic City. For a short time Harrah's operated a casino out of Trump Plaza on the Boardwalk.

Harrah's Atlantic City is located in the Marina District about 10 minutes drive from the Boardwalk. Borgata and Trump Marina are within walking distance of Harrah's Atlantic City.

The Rooms at Harrah's Atlantic City

Bayview, Harbour, Atrium and Marina Towers are your choices of rooms here at Harrah's. The Bayview offers 4 different room types, the Super Suite (for the high roller), the Jr. Suite (cheap high rollers), the Standard Room (low rollers)and the King Room (not so low rollers).

The Harbour Towers have the same options, minus the Super Suite, while the Atrium houses the other Jr. Suites in the Hotel, leaving The Marina Towers with the grubs: Standard Rooms and King Rooms.

Expect to pay close to $300 a night.

Harrah's Resort Atlantic City offers nine dining options including : Bluepoint - steak & seafood, Club Cappucino - coffee bar, McCormick & Schmick's - chain seafood restaurant, Polistina's - Italian, Reflections Cafe - 24/7 cafe, The Deli - sandwiches etc, The Steakhouse - excellent!, Waterfront Buffet and the usual Taste of the Shore Food Court (Ben & Jerry's serves a 'Harrah's Jackpot Sundae', Sack O' Subs, Philly Soft Pretzel Factory, Walt's Original Primo Pizza)


Harrah's Atlantic City Tips

Xhibition Bar on the Casino floor is a great place to catch some booze or mingle. The Eden Lounge features local entertainment in a Vegasy cover band lounge atmosphere. If you're looking for a party - go to Borgata.
