Revel - The Real Deal :

Revel is expected to open in 2012, we'll have more details when it gets closer to opening. Until then, we know that it will have a 150,000 square foot casino with all the bells and whistles you'd expect.

Revel History

Revel is scheduled to open on May 15, 2012. Revel's history began in 2006 when investment banking firm Morgan Stanley purchased a 20 acre plot of land on the Atlantic City boardwalk for US$74M. The property was previously partially owned by a development group and the Atlantic City Housing Authority. Rumors abounded upon the purchase that Morgan Stanley would partner with the Hard Rock management team (at the time) to build a $1B resort. Morgan Stanley announced that they would be partnering with a new company Revel Entertainment to build the as-yet-unnamed casino. In April Revel Entertainment announced that Tishman Construction would be the contractor and that architecture would be done by Arquetectonica a few weeks later.

Revel Entertainment unveiled its plans for Revel on November 7, 2007, with grand opening aggressively scheduled for 2010. With the economic collapse of 2008 and the following recession, Revel's construction was halted as Morgan Stanley flew the coop. Construction commenced again in 2010 with a target opening in early 2012.

Revel is located on the north east end of the Atlantic City Boardwalk, right next to the Showboat Hotel and Casino.

The Rooms at Revel

The first phase of Revel will feature one sloping tower bisected vertically by a shaft of light that will shoot towards the sky. Phase II will potentially add a second tower to the resort. Each hotel tower at Revel will feature approximately 1,900 rooms.


Restaurants at Revel

Revel is planning to dedicate 500,000 square feet of space for dining, retail and entertainment alone. This includes a 5,500 seat arena, pools, health clubs, spa and probably 10-15 restaurants. Currently, no restaurant details have been announced.
