History of Showboat
The Showboat - Mardi Gras Casino opened April 3, 1987. Showboat was acquired in 1998 by Harrah's who currently owns it.
How are the rooms at Showboat?
Decent rooms at a decent price. The Showboat's main attraction is the casino itself, however if you are planning on staying here, be sure to request the Orleans Tower which opened in 2003, upgrade to a Super Suite too, standard rooms in the Bourbon Tower are a bit cramped and the Super Suite's kick ass. You are better off building your own Tower of Bourbon than staying at the Bourbon Tower.
What restaurants are at Showboat?
French Quarter Buffet - better than your average buffet, expect a line
Casa Di Napoli - Italian food
Rib & Chophouse - Steaks, Ribs and Seafood
Mansion Cafe - Standard Coffee shop, there are better options in the area
Canal Street - Sandwiches and Pizza for a quick bite
North Sea Village - Asian cuisine. Not bad.
Noodle Bar - You guessed it... noodles.
Tropicana also has a Starbucks
Where is Showboat Located?
Northern most end of the Boardwalk. There's nothing more after it... if you're unhappy with lines and service the Taj Mahal will happily serve you just a few blocks away.
Exclusive Tips for Showboat:
House of Blues onsite books all sorts of great bands, plus its just opened.

Have stayed at the Showboat twice now and must say that I enjoyed the experience both times. Both times in the new tower tower where the rooms were nice and still did not show any signs of wear and tear. The casino is great with friendly dealers and pit bosses. This has become my favorite Harrah's property in AC.The only downside is the location at the very end of the boardwalk.
