Showboat - The Real Deal :
Back in the prehistoric Atlantic City days, The Showboat was one of our favorite places to gamble. Dealers wore Mississippi string ties, the PA system piped in Nawlins front line, dixieland and ragtime music, the dealer pits were separated by wrought iron work straight from the French Quarter and the waitresses were dressed like Southern ladies of the night. Over the ensuing decades, a lot of these details have spilled out of the Showboat like water over the levee, taking some of the charm with it. The addition of the House Of Blues has helped somewhat, but what good is a theme if it is half assed.
Location of Showboat:
The Showboat is located at the north eastern end of the Boardwalk between Taj Mahal and the brand new Revel Resort.

The Showboat - Mardi Gras Casino opened April 3, 1987. Showboat was acquired in 1998 by Harrah's Entertainment, who changed its name to Caesars Entertainment in 2011.
The Rooms at Showboat
The Showboat's rooms come in three flavors. The Deluxe is decidedly non deluxe and feels like a time warp to a hotel straight out of 1994 - pastel artwork, flower print bedspreads, blonde wood furnishings, tacky lamps and decor. The Premium rooms feature updated decor with new beds, new bedding, flat panel displays and modernized bathrooms and furnishings. The House Of Blues Studio Suites look like the inside of a House of Blues garage sale with some Pier One decor thrown into the mix. They feature sunken living rooms kinda like the Venetian in Las Vegas does. We suggest the Premium Room, the Deluxe are nasty and House of Blues Studio Suites are a little overboard.
Restaurants at Showboat
The Showboat features a groovy array of dining options.
French Quarter Buffet - better than your average buffet, expect a line

Starbucks - hot Americano Grande in a Venti cup with half and half and three sugars in the raw.
Foundation Room - pan Asian tasting menus inside the House of Blues.
Crossroads - rock n roll comfort food inside the House of Blues.
