History of Trump Taj Mahal
Opened April 2, 1990 at a then staggering cost of $1 bajillion dollars, Trump Taj Mahal was the standard bearer for Atlantic City until upstart Borgata showed up and blew the doors off AC. The Taj is still the fanciest place up on the Boards despite Mr. Trumps continual flirtation with bankruptcy and the nearly annual readjustment of his gaming empire.
How are the rooms at Trump Taj Mahal?
Be sure when making a reservation or upon check in that you request an ocean view room. Even if it costs more, there's no reason why you don't deserve a beautiful sunrise roomservice breakfast (or night cap).
Guest Rooms - newly renovated. Marble bathrooms, somewhat spacious, but nothing earth shattering
Executive Suites - a miniature suite that is shaped like an L (for Loser).
Grand Suites - larger, some come with a jacuzzi - these are probably your best value if you get the jacuzzi.
Rajah Suites - seperate master bedroom living areas. Comes with a bar (burp).
Lanai Suites - multiple bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms. Newly re-decorated.
Top of the line Hospitality Suites come in 6 flavors - Camel, Elephant, Giraffe, Lion, Tiger and Zebra. The Zebra ones are the best.
What restaurants are at Trump Taj Mahal?
Dynasty - pan-Asian delights including Chinese, Cantonese and Sushi (?).
Mark Anthony's - (not to be confused with Latin soul singer, but more accurately Mark Antony - the ancient Roman general who succeeded Julius Caesar and shagged Cleopatra) serves... you guessed it Italian cuisine!
Safari Steakhouse - Beef, lamb, veal, chops, steaks and more.
Scheherazade - An interesting place, you can actually dine while watching people gamble in the baccarat pit, which is awesome. Good food too.
Hard Rock Cafe - home of the rock n roll burger.
Royal Albert's Palace - Indian cuisine
Casual dining options include Sbarro, Stage Deli, Sultans Feast Buffet, Bombay Cafe and Casbah Cafe.
Where is Trump Taj Mahal Located?
On the north easter end of the boardwalk, with Resorts and Showboat nearby. Sands/Ballys/Caeasars is a bit of a hike so you may want to take a jitney down the boardwalk.
