Welcome to AtlanticCityTripping's long overdue blog, CityBoom, dedicated specifically to the extreme makeover of Atlantic City's casinos. Now that the dust has settled on the mondo redesign our family of websites, we now have the proper technological footing (and time) to support an ongoing column about the AC building boom.

So why a dedicated AC blog? Why not just post stuff to the VegasTripping news pages? Well, we've been getting by doing that for a while, mostly because there wasn't all that much happening in Atlantic City for the first few years. Now that nearly everything in Atlantic City is in a state of flux, it's time to give these exciting projects their own dedicated home. We'll still be posting news to the VegasTripping's news, but deeper analysis with renderings, maps, interviews and more AC stuff will be here.

Of course, if you've registered to comment on any of our sites, you use the same login to post here. If you don't have an account, you can sign up for one on the MyVegas thingy over on VT and you'll be all set to comment here.

If you happen to work at one of the AC casinos, either as a bell hop, bartender, craps dealer or an executive and want to spill the beans about some stuff you know, please contact us. We love getting reader submitted tips, secrets, renderings, plans, insider info, gossip, heresay and links to interesting articles.

Comments & Discussion:

Never been to AC but am always interested in new casino resorts even if they are on the glamorous Jersey shore. Is AC worth the trip compared to Vegas?

That's an interesting question Don. Frankly, I'm not sure... there are a lot of nice joints in AC, Borgata being the swankiest, but if one goes to AC expecting a full on Vegas freak-out experience, you will be disappointed. Most of these joints were built almost 20 years ago and it shows. Only in the last 2 years have the owners injected any real capital investment to make them more kick ass. I'd say go if you have the hankering to check it out, but don't set your expectations as high as you would for a Vegas trip.
