We're Atlantic City Tripping, No Really

Much like Atlantic City itself, this blog has been sucking wind for a coupla years. We appreciate all the input given, complaints filed and errors tallied by our semi-dormant readership and offer you the most sincere apology. Simply put, I bit off more than I could chew and chewed more than I could until my jaw fell off my head and I nearly bled to death.

Well.... I'm back. Literally. About five hours from getting on a plane from coast to coast where my first stop - aside from kissing the ground outside of Canarsie High School in Brooklyn - will be the newest kid on the boardwalk - Revel.

Up to this point I've been trying not to absorb too much of the Revel opening hoo-hah, mostly because I have known for some time that I would be visiting shortly after opening and didn't want to spoil it for myself. I haven't scavenged every detail possible about the hotel's offerings, nor have I fetished photos posted by fellow travelers, I haven't read Trip Advisor reviews or seen which restaurants are getting raves or nays on Yelp. This will be an incredibly open eyed experience... I'm going in with zero expectations and almost zero information.... absolutely the opposite of how I usually prepare for a visiting and reviewing a new hotel.

In addition to enjoying as much of what Revel has to offer, we're going to scoot across town to Borgata and spend a night there as well as check out the fantastic transformation going on at the Golden Nugget.

I'm going to be doing some posting here as time allows as well as full recaps and review when we get back in a week or so. For more immediate, on the ground nonsense, I've finally activated the @actripping Twitter account too.

Next stop... Revel!

Comments & Discussion:

This is exciting news. In addition to Revel, I'm looking forward to your opinion of Golden Nugget. Anything would be a huge improvement over the former Dump Marina. Does anyone in AC believe Hard Rock will actually build its boutique hotel

Look forward to your impressions of everything Chuck. If you want to play cheap craps (and if you have time), head down to the Atlantic Club for $3 tables.
