Mohegan Sun To Take Over Management of Resorts AC

More big changes afoot at Resorts AC today, the word in the newspapers is that the hotel will be announcing a management agreement with the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, the folks responsible for Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.

Resorts AC was purchased in late 2010 by partnership of real estate developer Morris Bailey and long time industry veteran Dennis Gomes. Gomes died suddenly earlier this year after launching the first phase of property wide renovations, leaving the hotel without a CEO or major gaming experience at the helm.

The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority will take over operations of the property as part of a management agreement. It is unsure if MTGA will bolt Resorts' Casino Club rewards program onto

In addition to Mohegan Sun and Resorts, the MTGA operates Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, a racino located just off I-81 in Wilkes-Barre. MTGA has also proposed Mohegan Sun Palmer in the hopes of gaining a foothold in potential expansion of casino gambling in Massachusetts.

Intersting foothold. Hopefully they can continue to cleanup the property. Anything really that sets them apoart from the Taj would be helpful. Perhaps some fresh paint? That white doesn't look so good.

Garuantee that the player's club will be grafted on.
