Wynn Eyeballs Philly Again
Steve Wynn dropped in to Philadelphia the other day to take a look at some riverfront property. His verdict?
"it's a delicious piece of real estate."
Bwahahaha. No, really... that's what he said!!! Delicious! Currently, it looks like a place I used to go drink underage beer, smoke illegal marijuana and make out with hot girls at. Yowza.
An aerial view:
The property is located in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, right on the river, north of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge. It actually does look like a pretty decent piece of property... right at the bend in the river with little to building clearing required. I'm sure Steve and DeRuyter will design something lovely and lobster looking perfectly suited for the city that gave birth to Democracy.
Supposedly, they're releasing renderings on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

It could be a nice area, there. Yards brewing is a little south of Sugar House - they have a nice tasting room. But there's nothing really compelling about Sugar House. If Wynn were to do something with some nice restaurants, it would take all of Sugar House's business.
As if Atlantic City isn't in bad shape as is. Putting a Wynn casino so close won't be helping any.
Having gotten lost down there a couple of times it's a surprisign pain in the ass to get back onto 95 there.
Always wanted to gambling behind the warehouses in a brownfield. I can't believe El Steve is really serious about that property. Would he pay for new interchanges to?
I have doubts this will happen based upon the idiots that run Philly, but if it does I will be there frequently to take pictures since I live in the burbs. I really hope Wynn gets this done.
