Carl Icahn Eyeballing Tropicana AC

Bajillionaire investor/corporate raider/former casino owner Carl Icahn has thrown his hat in the Tropicana Atlantic City bidding ring.

Icahn has owned a number of casinos in the past including the Stratosphere/Arizona Charlies chain, some joints in Laughlin and the Sands AC (which he sold to Pinnacle.)

The Press of AC is reporting that Icahn Associates holds $1.4B mortgage on the property and might just take the whole thing over. Previous bid by Cordish has been essentially withdrawn, although it is still the top news item on their website.
